Sarah McQuaid

Best known to Irish audiences as a onetime writer and folk music columnist for both Hot Press and the Evening HeraldSarah McQuaid was born in Madrid, raised in Chicago and holds dual Irish and American citizenship.
Mellow, relaxed, haunting and extremely personal, Sarah’s musical style is unique.
She has thrown herself into music and released six critically acclaimed albums. The latest of which “The St Buryan Sessions” was recorded and filmed live in the beautiful medieval church of St Buryan, not far from Sarah’s home in rural West Cornwall.
Released in October 2021 on CD and limited-edition double LP, it features stunning solo performances by Sarah on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and floor tom drum, her lush, distinctive vocals echoing through the soaring space.
Accompanied by her beautiful custom-made guitar, the richness of her vocals is striking. Sarah’s international upbringing might explain her eclectic musical influences, which include folk, jazz, traditional, contemporary, classical and even medieval influences.
“Captivating, unorthodox songwriting … layered satin vocals … enthralling, harrowing arrangements … a gateway into a true innovator’s soul.” PopMatters
“I’ve attended hundreds of concerts of all kinds, and her subtle mastery onstage launches her straight into my fave shows ever.” Huffington Post
