Kaleidoscope Night presents Norma Winstone

Described as “one of the glories of contemporary jazz” (Jazz Journal), Norma Winstone MBE is a multi-award-winning vocalist who has enjoyed a career spanning more than 50 years. Presented by Kaleidoscope Night, Norma will be joined by long-time collaborator and friend Tommy Halferty on guitar, and Steve Watts on double bass, to perform music both old and new.

Although known initially for evolving her own wordless approach to improvisation, Norma Winstone’s extraordinary versatility means she is equally at home with the standards repertoire, performing with small groups, orchestras and big bands. Among other accolades, she was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2007, and she also received a Jazz FM Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
The Kaleidoscope Night series presents classical and contemporary music alongside experimental, jazz and folk music in a unique, intimate and informal setting. A variety of music for the curious ear, the series boasts performances from the country’s top classical music performers and composers. The series is curated by cellist Lioba Petrie, managed by Caterina Schembri with SM management by Lina Andonovska.
