In Harmony

On February 21st, 2024, Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB) showcases the musical talent of students of 12 post-primary colleges at ‘In Harmony’ in the National Opera House. Enjoy the performances of over 240 of talented students in this very special show with student choirs and orchestra under the baton of Liam Bates (accomplished arranger, orchestrator, and conductor) traditional ensemble group and individual school performances from school musical medleys to solo performances. Not to be outdone by the students the fabulous staff choir of WWETB will also perform on the night.

The orchestral performance will feature Vincent Kennedy’s ‘A Sunny Day in Fethard-on-Sea’, from his piece ‘The Hook – a Place and a People’ which celebrates the uniqueness of Southwest Wexford through music, symbolic of that part of Ireland which connects the communities served by WWETB on both sides of Waterford Harbour.

WWETB is grateful for the generosity of Music teachers in WWETB schools who have spent months rehearsing with our students for this unique event and to the professional musicians who have supported this event. The show really has something for all tastes, spanning a broad range of musical genres. Enjoy a night of music celebrating the connection between the talented young people of the southeast. The WWETB family of schools cannot wait to take to the stage together in the National Opera House and look forward to seeing you there.
