Goitse presented by Music Generation Carlow

Music Generation Carlow (MGC) is delighted to present a special concert featuring world renowned quintet Goitse, a celebrated name in traditional Irish music. This concert underscores MGCs dedication to providing young musicians with unique opportunities to learn from high profile professional musicians and to showcase their talent alongside acclaimed artists.

Goitse, known for their compelling mix of original compositions and traditional tunes, have won the hearts of audiences worldwide and received numerous accolades, including Live Ireland’s “Traditional Group of the Year” and the “Freiburger International Leiter 2016” award.

Originating from their time studying at Limerick’s Irish World Academy, Goitse stands at the forefront of contemporary traditional Irish music. With an extensive touring history across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the USA, and six critically acclaimed albums, their performances offer a deep dive into the essence of Irish musical tradition.

Leading up to the concert, Goitse will conduct masterclasses and workshops, allowing MGCs young musicians to gain invaluable insights into the craft of traditional music performance. The event will be further enriched by collaborative performances, featuring Goitse alongside Music Generation Carlow’s ensembles Reelig and Reel-Nua, young talents from our community HUBs, and the Senior Trad ensemble from Music Generation Waterford.

We look forward to having you join us for a unique evening, showcasing local talent in MGC’s young musicians, and the expertise of Goitse, with this special collaboration. Come and experience a night not to be missed!
